Tidbits from NYIGF (New York International Gift Fair) Part 1

We have returned from NYC full of new ideas! We have so many ideas running around we have decided to do this in multiple posts. To begin we will go to the dogs....

Fantastic rope toys! Eco friendly cotton rope colored with vegetable dyes so you don't have to worry about your four legged friend tasting nasty chemicals. They are even machine washable! Great for chewing, playing, cleaning teeth and if you think the way we do, a table centerpiece or party favor... that is, before Fido makes use of them!

Lots of Fish!
Blue Fish

The following toys are branded "good-karma" toys because the manufacturer gives a portion of the sales back to a 501(c)3 organization that helps save animals lives.
Hippo

Horse

Lion

Lobster

Turtle

Penguin

Giraffe - with his long neck this toy makes for a great tug-o-war game!

There are many other cute rope animals that we may feature later on but for now here is the first peak and one of our favorite finds from the latest gift fair! Which one is your favorite? Does your four legged friend agree with you? Happy chewing!

Spring and SNOW!!!!

For the first time this winter it is truly bitterly cold, so what are we doing?? We are going to New York tomorrow, where I am sure it will be even colder! Why, would we be this crazy you ask? Oh, because snow is an excellent inspiration for shopping for spring and summer items of course! For the first time all winter I woke up to.... you guessed it, snow!!!

Being a displaced Californian I still get very excited about that funny white stuff that falls from the sky and makes the world a beautiful glistening place. That said, I like it best when I have the option of staying inside with a mug of hot cocoa and reading a good book. Instead, I will be focusing on thinking of spring in the snow... so here goes...
Outdoor Solar Lanterns

Picnics

Outdoor Garden Party with Wipe Off Tablecloths!

Fresh chives.... for a spring salad.... although, at the moment I confess I'm feeling the hot baked potato more, but I'm still working on this thinking spring idea!

Baron checking out the snow

So while my four pawed friend and I brave the very chilly great out of doors, I ask, what do you want to see this spring? I know I've touched on the "Emerald" color of the year already, but what colors inspire you to think Spring?

Cheers for now and remember to stay warm out there, I'll send more news from our adventures in NYC!

Emerald!?!

Melamine Plates Seville - Yellow

'Tis the season of new releases... or at the very least previews of the new releases. The time of year when our clever team of manufactures starts giving us pre-market sneak peaks of what is to come for the following spring.

Pantone has declared the color of the year to be Emerald, but evidently we're all a little slow on the uptake because the closest thing I've seen to emerald so far is this 'teal'...
Melamine Plate Bella - Teal

And I don't know about you, but it doesn't look very much like emerald to me, and for that matter I'm hoping it looks more 'teal' in real life, I will keep you posted as we will have an opportunity to see these new plate patterns closer to the end of the month - although, they won't be ready for shipping until mid-February!

As we begin to choose new embroidery for the spring and fall, as always, we welcome suggestions and ideas. I am sure that we will keep emerald in mind but here is to a year of new ideas and new patterns, which might or might not include Emerald! Happy New Year everyone!
